It’s Women’s Equality Day! Many American women were granted the right to vote exactly 96 years ago today thanks to the 19th Amendment. It’s a day of celebration for how far we’ve come, but even more, it’s a day to encourage one another to continue breaking down barriers. In 1971, Congress declared August 26 Women’s Equality Day, from the ballot box to the boardroom, from the wage gap to access to healthcare. All of the positive work happening to eliminate the gender pay gap and ensure equality for women reminds us of something Sheryl Sandberg said, “We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored.” Today we will dive into the powerful women that have helped make DIY Blinds what it is today.
At DIY Blinds, we’re seeing plenty of inspiring ways for promoting women’s equality in the workplace as well as offering women the opportunity to utilize their voices in the growth of our company. Our founder and CEO, Karina Grinberg, is leading the charge by transforming the Blinds industry into a customer focused, simple solution that it should be. Karina founded DIY Blinds, Inc. in October 2018 to make custom premium blinds and shades easily accessible as a result of better pricing and easy self-installation. With a focus on people over profits Karina has been changing the way this industry does business.
